It is a practical solution to cash problems by allowing the borrower to borrow money using any of the businesses assets as security. The company borrowing the funds must therefore provide the lender with a security interest in the assets in exchange for the finance, this is where the “asset finance” phrase comes from. The funds could also be acquired for the purchase of fixed infrastructure assets.
